Automating and Integrating an OMS System

October 28, 2019 by Laura

Order Management has been greatly enhanced with the advent of the Order Management Software / OMS System which is an advanced order and inventory tool to automate much of the ordering and inventory management within a business that is stock heavy and has multiple suppliers.

What Does an OMS System Actually Do?

For a distributor or Retailer that has several suppliers and several sales channels the order management and inventory management processes can be very complicated, especially as stock count and SKU counts increase and order volume boom.

An OMS system integrates the point of sale whether retail, ecommerce or via non-EDI sources into the inventory and receivables system. This enables synchronization of the order process and inventory warehouses for end to end visibility of order processing for all parties. It also allows for integration of several sales channels. The software has the main advantages of reduce the amount of manual data entry, reducing errors and costs, and integrating EDI directly with other systems including accounting and back-office software.

Efficiencies Created by an OMS System

There are several efficiencies achieved by an OMS System. First of all there is improved inventory control and order management, through the synchronization of multi order types and inventory statuses to match customer demand and ensure accurate management of each order. Inventory is visible end to end for suppliers, distributors, retailers and even the end consumer placing a retail order on any sales channel. Inventory levels are real time and demand statistics, and sales data is easily reported to make decisions on new product lines or re-ordering of product lines. Inventory can be allocated so no duplicate orders cause problems. Product costs can be calculated end to end with costs allocated across the order system.

Order processing can be integrated with EDI to link order and inventory management with EDI solutions from several sources allowing for greater inventory control, efficiencies of scale and enhanced order processing. Manual data entry is reduced or eliminated by integration of the EDI data into accounting software. Customer fulfilment is optimised with end to end order management being more flexible to support bulk orders to commercial customers as well as single SKU fulfilment to domestic addresses. Inventory reports showing stock levels are available at any time.

Information available to any user can be filter or managed to show them what is necessary, important or permitted. Therefore suppliers and major customers can have access to the OMS system giving them direct access to monitor orders or even order themselves directly into the system. Documents can be shared with users as well as real time notifications sent to desktop, tablets or smart phones to inform a user of order status or stock levels for example. Filters can be applied to data so that the senior management team can assess trading partnerships, sales information and product profitability.

The result is a seamless shopping experience for the end consumer, a most cost efficient business model for the distributor, and a more profitable and easy to manage transparent system for the supplier.

How Charter Buses Can Make Transportation Efficient for All Industries

October 28, 2019 by Laura

Any organization which survey’s its employees about what their frustrations are with work, will often find that frustrations come down to lack of time with family, lack of sleep, and long hours working. When you consider the root cause of these issues often it is down to commuting times. The average American commutes over two hours everyday to work and back. Thankfully there is a solution. Find out how Charter Buses can make transportation efficient for all Industries.

How Charter Buses Can Make Transportation Efficient for All Industries

Some employees are taking public transport buses and trains to work every day, they lose time as they wait for the public transport, as it stops at every location on the journey and when they have to change to another form of transport. Other employees to avoid the dismal public transport commute travel in their own vehicle, focusing their mind on traffic, delays, and other frustrated drivers.

Imagine you could take this awful commute away from a large number of your employees. You could send a transport to pick them up, and bring them directly to work, while they spend their commute building friendships with colleagues, reading, learning a new language or listening to their favorite music. Commute times would be halved, and your employees would turn up to work in a much better mood ready to be productive. Schools worked this out decades ago! Send a chartered bus to pick everyone up. This is a viable solution for organizations in all industries, providing benefits for employees and the company.

Chartered buses can also be used throughout the working day to transport teams to and from sites and deliver shifts of employees back and forth from their neighborhoods.

So you’re imaging a school bus puffing out black diesel smoke sputtering along? Some charter buses are luxurious executive level vans and coaches with heated leather seats, individual TV screens, on-board toilet facilities, coolers with drinks and snacks, and air conditioning. Imagine how your employees will feel if they can replace their expensive second car with a journey in a comfortable chauffeur-driven vehicle that allows them to relax or even sleep on their journey to and from work!

Charter Buses Help Businesses Reduce Carbon Footprint

Aside from asking all employees to walk or cycle to work, there is nothing more effective than reducing thirty journey that were previously carried out through via twenty private vehicles and several public transport routes down to just one journey in one vehicle. If your business is serious about reducing its actual carbon footprint this is one of the most effective ways to do so.

So now is the time to consider if you can improve employee satisfaction, increase productivity, and have an impact on your carbon footprint by using charter buses to commute your employees to and from work, and move groups of employees between work sites during the day. Such a transportation revolution could help your business be much more efficient.

Reasons for Taking Your Child to Baby Swimming School

October 28, 2019 by Laura

Whether you’re a strong swimmer yourself or not you will recognize that water safety is ultra important for children, they need to respect water and be able to swim if they should find themselves in a situation where they are in water and there is no adult around. That is why many parents are taking their children to baby swimming school to develop swimming skills earlier on.

What are the Benefits of Baby Swimming School?

Swimming classes for babies of 12 weeks to 6 months are designed to build a foundation of water safety in a child while they are young, so that as they get older they will not only feel comfortable in water, but they will naturally know how to breathe and react when in water, and will quickly pick up swimming strokes and skills. This type of activity is an opportunity for bonding between the baby and its parent, and something many Father’s like to do with their child, to teach them some of their first life skills. Baby swimming instructors introduce age-appropriate water acclimation drills which help the baby to feel comfortable in water, and find their balance so they can first of all float ready to learn to swim in the coming months.

Why Should You Teach Swimming to Children Early on in Their Development?

Swimming is a healthy leisure activity for kids which not only promotes exercise and good fun but is also a life skill which could save their life at some point. The statistics are shocking, that 20% of all drowning deaths are children under 14, and 80% of those deaths occur in the presence of the parents. So often the parent is powerless to help. If you leave it until your child is in the sea at the age of 7+ to teach them to swim, this is a very dangerous environment, and they will struggle to learn. Whereas if taught from infancy they will be a strong and competent swimmer by the age of 7 and be able to save their own life if put in a dangerous situation in the water. Swimming lessons lessen the risk of drowning by almost 90%.

Currently in the USA 50% of children have no or low swimming ability, which puts them at risk of drowning. Not having confidence in water will effect their future, leaving them behind their peers who enjoy water activities on vacation or as extra-curricular activity. Swimming lessons from young promote physical strength, agility, safety awareness and confidence.

Swimming Lessons for Older Children

As children get older they will develop their experience in the pool and be able to be taught diving, swimming strokes, swimming under water, rescue and other skills which will further develop their confidence and abilities. Many high schools have swimming teams and children who swim regularly on their own time up to then have the ability and athleticism to be selected for the school team. This give them a big advantage and may qualify them for a scholarship at college.

Do Your Part To Comply With Sustainable Environmental Needs

October 27, 2019 by Laura

The relationship between humankind and the environment is a strained one. Especially with new technological developments and post-industrial processing, it can be challenging to establish a personal or business relationship with the world around you. Keeping that in mind, what can you do to comply with sustainable environmental needs on these two levels?

Think of a few reference points to get you started. There is pollution compliance when it comes to business matters. There is your personal carbon footprint that is an essential function of your relationship with the external environment.

And then there is the level of business ethics that you and your company are willing to adhere to. Beyond what the law regulates, your ethical decisions regarding sustainable environmental needs via a business perspective are in an entirely different category.

Pollution Compliance

It’s important to eventually curb the amount of pollution that we put out into the atmosphere. At some point, mother nature will fight back. So, regulations are in place to try to curb some of humans’ enthusiasm for industrial waste before it’s too late. There are power plant pollution reduction technologies that are in place.

There are several different types of technology to help cars reduce their emissions. Putting out anything into rivers, streams, lakes, and oceans is becoming a problem, so companies are now doing more to filter out the worst waste. Sometimes pollution regulations are federal requirements; other times, they are simply smart suggestions.

Personal Carbon Footprint

What are you doing on an individual level to create a sustainable relationship with the earth? Are you reducing your carbon footprint? Are you doing everything that you can to avoid wasting precious nonrenewable resources? Are you investing in cleaner energy?

Are you getting rid of the consumer culture aspect of your personality and replacing it with a more minimal version? All of these things can help you sleep better at night, knowing that you are trying to be a better person in the grand scheme of things.

Levels of Business Ethics

Finally, there’s the matter of business ethics. If you own a business, what do you do to go above and beyond sustainable earth regulations? Do you set up appropriate recycling for your company? Do you buy energy-efficient appliances?

Do you suggest to your employees that they do things that are better for the environment? By having this higher degree of business ethics, you can transparently show the public at large that you care. This is a great business endeavor because it will give you an excellent return on your investment as well as saving the earth. Especially as concern over pollution gets worse, ethical business leaders will be revered.

5 Things You Should Never Do On Vacation in Mexico

October 27, 2019 by Laura

There’s a reason why millions of tourists flock to Mexico every year. Whether it’s your first time visiting the magical country, or whether you’re a seasoned veteran, it’s crucial that you avoid making these mistakes.

Get Too Drunk

A lot of people associate Mexico with drinking and alcohol. While it’s true that it’s a great place to kick back and have a few drinks on the beach, there’s a difference between having fun and making yourself vulnerable to getting hurt.

It’s not uncommon for tourists to overdo the alcohol in Mexico. All it takes is a few drinks to result in a head-on collision or drown in a body of water.

By pacing your alcohol intake and being careful about who you’re drinking with, you can avoid alcohol-related injuries and tragedies.

Carry Your Passport

Whenever you’re traveling to a different country, you should never carry your passport around with you. Carrying it with you could result in it getting stolen or lost. Losing your passport outside of your native country can throw your entire trip for a loop.

Not only do you risk missing your flights home, but you’ll have to make a costly trip to the nearest embassy for an emergency passport. The last thing you want is to spend a day of your trip waiting around in lines a government office.

Carry Large Amounts of Cash

While it’s not a good idea to flaunt your money around anywhere in the world, it’s especially important to avoid doing so in Mexico. You risk getting robbed or losing your money.

You’re better off using credit cards which can easily be replaced if lost or stolen. A bit of cash is ok; however, more than a few hundred is probably asking for trouble.

Drink The Tap Water

Mexico doesn’t have the same water filtering system as other first world countries. In Mexico, you shouldn’t drink water that doesn’t come out of a bottle. This includes ice cubes.

Always make sure that you see the waiter pour the water from the bottle directly into the glass. Taking chances could result in vomiting and diarrhea for a good portion of your trip.

Argue With Locals

It’s never a good idea to get into an argument with locals or insult their culture. There’s no telling what kind of trouble you could get into if you fall into the wrong crowd.

Although Mexico is considered relatively safe in most places, it can still be full of dangers. It’s vital that you keep your wits about you and avoid doing things that could get you into trouble. By following these tips, you should increase your chances of having a fantastic trip.

5 Ways To Get Out Of Debt

October 27, 2019 by Laura

The average American carries about $8000 in credit card debt, not including mortgage or student loan debt. For many people, their debt has gotten so high that they aren’t sure how to get out from under it. As a result, they freeze and do nothing at all.

However, letting your debt get worse and worse isn’t a smart plan. The longer you go without paying your debts, the lower your credit score will sink. The lower your credit score is the less eligible you are for things like home loans or even cell phone contracts.

If you have debts that are overwhelming you, take a look at the best ways to get started.

Get a Clear Picture Of Everything You Owe

The first thing you’ll need is to have a full picture of everything that you owe. Gather all of your bills and make a list. Whether you owe a judgment or have an outstanding medical bill, put it all together in one place.

Once you have an idea of the total number of what you owe and where it should go, you can start developing a plan. Once you have your total, put together a budget of how you’ll be able to make payments on each one. You may have to contact some of the lenders to work out a deal with them.

Balance Transfer

One of the most straight forward ways to get out of debt faster is to lower your interest rate. You can do this by transferring your balance due to a lower-interest card. Ideally, you may even be able to transfer all of your debt to a card that has a 0%APR introductory rate for the first year. If you plan to make payments aggressively, then you could conceivably pay off all your debt in a year interest-free.

Get a Low-Interest Rate Loan

Another option is to apply for a low-interest loan. Usually, personal loans offer consumers a considerably lower interest rate than traditional credit cards.

If the majority of your debt is a result of your car payments, then you may want to look into refinancing your auto loan.

Pay More Than The Minimum Due

Even though lenders give you the option to pay the minimum due each month, paying only the minimum will result in more interest. More interest means more money wasted over time.

You’re better off paying as much as you can each month so that you can get out of debt as quickly as possible.

Get a Side Job

If you’re unable to make your payments or can only afford the minimum due, it may be time to start pursuing more income. Find a side job and dedicate all of the income made from it towards paying off your debts.

5 Tips for Hiring a Nanny

October 27, 2019 by Laura

Finding a nanny for your child may be necessary in order to balance work with your family life. However, choosing someone that you can trust to take care of your children while you’re not, there is not a decision to be taken lightly. The thought of leaving your child with a stranger can be downright unsettling.

Therefore, it’s important to make sure that you go through the hiring process carefully and thoroughly. Here are some of the best tips for helping you choose the perfect nanny for your family.

Ask For Recommendations With Friends

Word of mouth is a great tool when it comes to finding a nanny. Finding someone that already comes recommended by someone you know personally reduces the risk of putting your child into the hands of someone dangerous.

Don’t hesitate to post something on your social media mentioning that you’re looking for recommendations. You might even be surprised to find that you already know someone who is a nanny themselves!

Conduct a Background Check

Before allowing just anyone to come into your home and take care of your child, you should make sure you know everything about them. You should know their criminal history, and if they’ve ever been charged with sexual abuse, or any issues involving children.

Look into their previous jobs and find out why they quit. By doing your homework about their past, you’ll have an idea of how they’ll treat your children.

Be Specific About What You’re Looking For

When looking to hire a nanny, it’s important to be as specific as possible in your requirements. Failing to list the specifications could waste your time and someone else’s.

Make sure to clearly outline what kind of duties you’d like them to perform and what hours you’d like them to work. The last thing you want is to make time for an interview only to find that the person was expecting full-time when you’re only looking for a few hours a week.

Create a Contract

A contract is critical when you hire someone. It should outline everything from house rules to their hourly pay. A contract helps protect you and the nanny from unnecessary battles down the road.

The best way to make sure that everyone stays happy is to be as specific as possible from the beginning.

Agree On a Trial Period

Sometimes, despite your best efforts, you may not be a good fit for each other. It can put you in a bit of a pickle once you’re under contractual obligation.

Therefore, it’s helpful to agree on a trial period before hiring them indefinitely. It also gives your child the opportunity to tell you whether they like them or not.

3 Tips For Preparing Your Family To Get A New Dog

October 27, 2019 by Laura

For many people, the picture-perfect family just isn’t complete without a pet. Today, many couples and families choose to have dogs as their pet. However, taking on a pet, especially a dog, isn’t as easy as you might hope. So to help ensure that everyone in your family is ready for this transition, here are three tips for preparing your family to get a new dog.

Teach Your Kids How To Respect Animals

Before you bring a new pet into your home, including a dog, you’re going to want to be sure that your children are ready to be around this animal on a daily basis. While many children get very excited around dogs, this doesn’t mean that they understand how to give them the respect they deserve in order for everyone to stay safe while sharing a home together.

To help with this, Tisha Berg, a contributor to WorkingMother.com, recommends that you find plenty of opportunities for your kids to interact with other dogs before you get your own family dog. During each of these interactions, you should be teaching your kids the right ways to spend time around dogs. This should include how to approach dogs, when to leave them alone in order to avoid being bitten by a dog, and how to safely and calmly pet or play with a dog.

Have Your Kids Help You Dog-Proof Your Home

Once your think your children understand how to be around a dog in a safe and loving way, it’s now time to start preparing your home for the presence of your new pet.

Similar to babyproofing, Gina Shaw, a contributor to WebMD.com, shares that you’re going to want to remove anything that could get ruined by being chewed, licked, or eaten. This includes things like household cleaners, medicines, some potted plants, and toys with small parts or pieces.

During this removal process, you should also inform your kids that these things will have to stay out of the house, or at least off the floor, whenever your dog is around so that he or she will always be safe in your home.

Make A Plan For Routines and Responsibilities

Caring for a dog is a big responsibility that should be shared by your entire family, including your kids.

To help them prepare for this, Jen Hubley Luckwaldt, a contributor to Parents.com, suggests that the best way to ensure everyone is doing their part to care for your new dog is to make a plan for routines and responsibilities. Try creating a calendar where everyone has a turn walking the dog, feeding the dog, and bathing the dog. You may also need to lay out a plan for house-training if you’re getting a puppy that hasn’t mastered this skill yet.

If you’re thinking about getting a new dog for your family, consider using the tips mentioned above to help prepare yourselves for this new addition.

How to See the World Without Flying

October 24, 2019 by Laura

In the era of budget airlines and dirt-cheap package tours, getting out and seeing the world has never been easier. However, a growing number of serious travelers are eschewing air travel altogether in order to go the long way around. Part of this is driven by environmental concerns, given that jets are a major polluter, but that’s not the whole story.

Some people are discovering a renewed affinity for the journey, rather than just the destination. Rather than shuttling between different identikit airports and spending half your trip breathing the same recycled air as everyone else on a gas-guzzling jumbo jet, follow these tips if you want to see the world without flying.

1. Stay at Home

This one may seem like a surprising place to start, but there’s no escaping the fact that the cheapest and most environmentally friendly way to see the world is to do so without ever leaving your house. Services like Google Maps can let you see every corner of the world, travel series such as Planet Earth take you to the most remote places there are, and games let you explore the world for yourself.

If you want to see the world via a video game, you can play open-world ones such as Assassin’s Creed or Grand Theft Auto, or you can try online games. For example, the live casino games at Magical Vegas allow you to play poker, roulette, and baccarat in real Las Vegas-style with a real dealer, just like you would in a real Sin City casino. Livestreaming technology means that you can experience the world from the comfort of your living room.

2. Transnational Rail

Now for those who are determined to actually get out there. One of your best options for a journey in which you actually see the world instead of flying over it is rail. It may take some effort to organize but with routes such as the Caledonian Sleeper which takes you from the Scottish Highlands to London, or the Trans-Siberian Express which takes you from Moscow to Vladivostock, you’re always guaranteed a truly magical experience. This is also by far and away the most efficient form of transportation.

3. Cargo Ship Voyage

But to take the Transiberian railway, you’ve first got to get to Russia. How to do that? Well, for something truly unique, you could live out a stowaway fantasy by booking yourself a space on a real-life freight vessel. Although they can be a little tricky to find, online platforms like Cargo Ship Voyages exist to match adventurous seafarers up with the cargo route they want. For the price of your ticket, you get to live like a crew member, sleeping in dorms and eating onboard the ship canteen. It’s several times more environmentally friendly than a cruise ship, whilst also being one of the most unique, rugged, and unforgettable forms of travel you can embark on. It doesn’t get more adventurous than this.

In 2019, these are the best ways to see the world if you’re wanting to avoid traveling by plane. Each of them has its merits, so give all three a try at some point in your life.

The Different Lending Options Available to Meet Your Financial Needs

October 18, 2019 by Laura

Did you know that there are many kinds of loans? Did you also know that each loan has a specific purpose? That means there is definitely a loan out there for you, not matter what your financial needs! From quick cash loans to large mortgages, you are sure to find the loan that you need and this article can help you sort through a few kinds of lending options to get a good idea of what direction you should go.

Debt Consolidation Loans

If you have a lot of debt, whether it be credit card debt, student loan debt or car debt, you may want to consolidate all of it to make it easier to manage. A consolidation loan is a large loan that will pay off all of your existing debt accounts. Then, you will have one payment to make each month. In addition to just being easier, you can usually get a better interest rate on a debt consolidation loan, enabling you to pay off your debt faster. You can also use a general personal loan to help consolidate your debt so also check out personal cash loans if you are trying to consolidate your debt.

Quick Cash Loan

A fast cash loan is a great option when you need money in a hurry. You can easily apply online at OzMoney for a loan and get the money you need almost instantly. Many quick cash loans do not even require a credit check, especially if you are just applying for a small amount. Perfect if you have lower credit or just need cash right away, everyone can use this kind of loan at one point of another!

Student Loan

If you are looking to pay for higher education classes, a student loan may be your best option. There are both private and federal student loans that you can look into. Federal student loans usually offer lower interest rates but can take a while to get. You may want to look into a private student loan or just a personal cash loan, if you need to pay for your classes sooner.

Mortgage

A mortgage is usually the best loan option if you want to buy a house. Mortgages are tied to your home and it is the collateral on your home. If you do not make timely payments on the loan, the bank can take your home. However, mortgages have the lowest interest rates and are available in high amounts which you typically need when buying a home. Be sure to pay your mortgage on time and never take out a larger loan than you can afford!

Personal Loan

A general personal loan can encompass and help with almost any financial need. When you need cash for a variety of reasons, this is the kind of loan you should look into. You can take out a personal loan and use it to put a down payment on a car, buy groceries and pay off that uncle you owe money. With a personal loan, there are no restrictions!
